what to expect

...for the Path Toward Feeling Safe.

Starting therapy is a courageous act of self-trust. To help regulate your nervous system and reduce the "fear of the unknown," this roadmap outlines exactly how we begin our work together—ensuring you feel the safety of professional guidance and a clear, predictable process from the very first moment.

A trauma-informed approach means removing ambiguity. Whether you are seeking support for complex trauma, cult recovery, or consciousness-based growth, knowing the process allows your system to begin the shift from "survival mode" to a state of receptive healing.

Step 1: Before We Meet

Anxiety before a first session is a normal response to past pain. We manage this by providing a clear structure for our initial connection:

  • Paperwork Without Pressure: You will receive a secure link to complete your intake forms online at your own pace. No "proving" your pain is required—just the essentials to help me understand how to best support you.
  • Your Choice of Space: You will let me know if you prefer to meet via secure Telehealth or in-person at my home office.
  • Grounding Arrival: For in-person sessions, I will provide my home office address once we schedule. You can simply text me when you arrive so that I can meet you and show you back to the office space.

Step 2: Your Initial Appointment (60 Minutes)

Our first session is the foundation of our therapeutic alliance. It is a collaborative space where we prioritize your comfort and safety within a structured clinical framework.

  • Expert Guidance, Collaborative Pace: You don’t have to carry the weight of "figuring it out" alone. I provide the clinical structure and specialized tools needed for trauma recovery, while we move at a pace that honors your boundaries and nervous system capacity.
  • No Forced Retelling: You are never required to share trauma details before you feel ready. We focus on your current needs and the goals you want to achieve.
  • Assessing the "Fit": We will discuss your history and my approach to see how it feels for us to work together, as connection is the primary vehicle for healing.

Step 3: What Therapy Looks Like Here

Healing isn't a straight line, and our structure reflects that reality. We work with your body's wisdom, not against it.

  • Consistency and Pacing: Sessions are 60 minutes, typically held weekly or biweekly. We adjust the frequency based on your nervous system's capacity and your life's demands.
  • Autonomy and Choice: You have the right to pause, take breaks, or change the direction of our work at any time. Your boundaries are respected and encouraged.
  • Integration and Flow: As we move through the phases of healing, you will begin to notice a shift from "thinking" about recovery to "embodying" it—reclaiming trust in your own intuitive guidance.

"Healing isn't about 'getting over it' or pretending it didn't happen. It's about helping your nervous system finally believe that the danger has passed—so you can be present for your life."
